  • Laparoscopic surgery and IC

Hello! I was diagnosed with IC over 20 years ago and have had 20+ hydro/cysto surgeries. During a pre-op visit earlier this year, I told my urologist that my IC symptoms were always worse the weeks before my cycle. He asked if I had ever been checked for endometriosis. I am now scheduled for a laparoscopy later this month. I am really nervous! What if it makes my IC worse? What if all of my symptoms are linked to my IC and nothing is found? I would greatly appreciate advice from anyone who has had a similar experience. Thank you!!

I am another ICer who has been treated by hydrodistentions. I have not had laparoscopic surgery for endo, but did have my gall bladder surgery and, later had colon cancer removed via those tiny little incisions without any problems with my bladder. I hope it goes well for you.

    Warm hugs,

    P.S. to the IC Network!
    Stay safe
