  • What the heck is wrong with me?!

A few weeks ago I developed a constant cough with lots of mucus stuck in my throat all the time. Now there's something wrong with my ears. It started out as an earache in my left ear about a week ago, and now it's in both ears. It's an uncomfortable pressure and I can feel the fluid moving around in my ears.

I have no other symptoms...no stuffy nose, no sneezing, no fever, nothing. Just the mucus in my throat and the fluid in my ears.

Does anybody know what this could be? I've been looking stuff up on the internet (dangerous, I know!) and nothing seems to quite fit with my symptoms. I can't get in to see the doctor for a week...and in the meantime I'm very annoyed and confused.

I apologize for how off-topic this is, but it's driving me crazy! Any feedback would be much appreciated.
I have: Interstitial Cystitis,Eustacian Tube Dysfunction, IBS, Sciatica.

I take: Elavil 50 mgs, Balziva birth control, and Elmiron instillations.

    I am: Not my disease.

I think I would call the doctor's office again and see if they don't have some time for sick patients. It sounds like an inner ear infection, but with no fever that's just one possibility.

If you can't get in to see your own doctor, how about an Urgent Care center?

      Hoping you feel better soon---

Yes, while I'm no doctor, it does sound like an ear infection. Take care.

It sounds like you may have developed a bacterial bronchitis and then an ear infection, but I'm no doctor. You should see someone ASAP -- Kadi had a great suggestion about an urgent care center. They could at least check it out and give you antibiotics if necessary.

            Perhaps an inner ear infection.
I get similar symptoms and found out its allergies.
Regardless of what might be wrong, I'm with the others--a visit to your Dr is warranted.

            Feel better!
