Kidney facing the wrong direction
well I learned something interesting recently, my left kidney is facing the wrong direction. apparently that is the source of a lot of my problems, at least as far as getting infections with no reason and the pain that I experiance on that side is also a result of the kidney not being where it's supposed to. i'm just not sure that it explains everything, I'm very confused now. Has anyone else ever heard of something like this? thank you!!

Very interesting. No, I have never heard of that. We do have a member who was born with 3 kidneys.Sharon

Wow, that is interesting, and I too haven't heard of that one. But, my husband's are fused together in a horsehoe-type shape and located in the front of his abdomen, instead of back....Hugs,

Just about anything can happen inside during development in the uterus... while I don't know anyone with that condition, I know people who have hearts that are on the right rather than left, and one who has a stomach turned the opposite way.****

*Diagnosed with severe IC in 2004
*Also diagnosed with PFD, fibromyalgia, chronic myofascial pain, IBS, migraines, allergies/asthma, dermatographism
*Kept trying a million different treatments for all these things until I found what works, and I am doing okay these days with the help of a cocktail of medications and the InterStim, which was first placed in 2007. [I have had 2 revisions - one in 2010 when my battery died and had to be replaced, and one complete replacement (lead and generator) in 2012 after a fall on my stairs caused my lead to move.]
*Current meds include Atarax (50mg at night), Lyrica (150mg twice a day), Xanax (0.5mg at night and as needed), Zanaflex (4mg at night), hydrocodone (10/325, every 6 hours as needed), Advair, Nasonex, Singulair (10mg at night), oral contraceptives, home instills containing Elmiron and Marcaine (as often as I need to do them).
