I was just dio with type 2 diabetic , a few weeks ago. Am on medformin 500 mg 2 times a day. I'm finding it very hard controling my suger levels. I was very dizzy today and checked them it was 17 . I then took my meds & ate some veg then it went down to 5 ? Im confused cand someone here explain this to me.? Hugs Sandra
I am not diabetic, but my husband has Type 1. It sounds like something is wrong with your meter. A 17 and 5 would mean that you would be in a coma. Anything below 30 you wouldn't know what was happening , because you would be unconsious.
Meds I take:
Elmiron, Elavil, Vagifem- for IC
Albuterol, Flovent, Atrovent- for Asthma and lung problems
Paxil, Clonazepam- for depression and Anxiety
Atenolol- for rapid heart rate
Nexium- for Gerd
Levothyroxin- for Hypothyroidism
Lasix, Pottasium- for edema
Lipitor- for High Cholesterol
I coated aspirin
02 at bedtime
I just noticed that you are from Canada. Maybe the meters are different???
A diabetic needs to be on a special diet. You need to talk with the doctor that diagnosed you.

If you have anymore questions please ask. My husband has had diabetes for 24 years, so I know a little bit about it.
