  • not sure what is going on

    Hello everyone,

I have had IC for many years. I am currently having some other issues that are not IC related, I think. I had some blood work done and it shows that my iron, calcium and protein levels are all low. Blood sugar levels are fine. But now I get the jitters kind of like low blood sugar. I have a tester at home and test myself and it shows the normal range. I also have no ever.
These resluts have occured more than once. and to 2 different regular doctors. Both of these drs do not seem to want to find out what is causing this or follow up with me to see if it is improving. I was seeing a dr (ob/gyn) for my IC but have not seen him in about a year since it is pretty under control. However, in the past, if there was any issue with my health he was right on it to find out what is going on. So I am going back to see this ob/gyn.

Sad that the regular drs do not seem to care.

    Thanks for listening.

I know for me, when I'm anemic I get shaky and jittery. You're right, it is sad when a doc says "hmmm, well, that's weird. Pay the desk on your way out". I think you're on the right track with going back to a doc that you at least know cares. And it's funny with doctors, the ones that care seem to hang out with other ones that care. So even if he doesn't know what to do, maybe he can find you someone who will. Good luck!!

Do you have a primary care physician? That's who takes care of my regular health needs; I only see my uro for my bladder problems.

One way to find out if your problem is a blood sugar dip is to eat something high in sugar when you get that shaky feeling. If the feeling subsides with sugar, it's time to see a doctor for testing. What do you consider normal range?

      Warm hugs,
      Donna

        thank you ladies.
I went from seeing an internist who did not listen to me to a Nurse Practioner but she is limited to what she can do.
I have been searching for a regular dr but not having much good luck. Many just seem to want my money or give more meds with out a diagnosis or helping me.

My IC has been flaring again and the ob/gyn has mentioned in the past that I may have other things going on but it was too soon to tell what.
I had other surgies (had complications) by other doctors and have gone to regular drs with them. they did nothing so I mentioned it to the ob/gyn and he knew what needed to be done or referred me to a dr who did.

I have eaten high sugar while feeling jittery and it does not help. So tired of feeling like this.

        Thank you for the hugs

My GYN/urogynecologist is the same way. She'll help me with whatever I need, even if its not directly gynecological or bladder related...they have kind of a health of the "whole woman" feel going on at her office. I'm lucky I have a good primary doctor too, but I tend to end up at the gyno's at least 50% of the time.

Maybe your OB/GYN will have an idea of what's going on or can refer to someone else who will take your concerns seriously! Best of luck! I wish I could do more to help.

Have you had anybody checked your b12? I had really low b12 and that will make you feel horrible. Shaky, tired, dizzy, nauseous. The list goes on. It might be something to check. I hope you're feeling better.

              jitters

Have you recently been on some kind of new meds? if so it could be an allergic reaction. After being on Lithuim for three months I was o.k, and then one day I started shaking so bad I good not feed myself without spilling food all over me.

Be very careful. If your electrolytes are out of whack it could be really dangerous. That would make you feel jittery and all kind of symptoms that you are having. Might want to get that checked. Don't want to alarm you, but that could be the problem. Good luck, let us know. Jill, wife of Bob
