  • I'm going to a neurologist

Yesterday I began having my second episode of having problems walking. My legs hurt so bad and are so weak. Walking from the bed to the kitchen is such a painful ordeal. And since college has restarted for the semester, my kids are gone all day. I can't even really explain what's going on except that it started yesterday morning when my left ankle began to hurt and feel weak. Within an hour I couldn't walk on either leg without pain and the use of a cane. By last night I had my husband get out my wheelchair because it was so painful to walk to the bathroom. I called my pcp this am and after explaining to her what was going on and that it had happened before (right after Xmas) she referred me to a neuro. I'm really scared. The last time it happened I thought it was because of my medicine. But this is not my medicine. Nothing has changed since Wednesday when I was walking fine. Although the last time this happened it affected my arms and back too, this is the same pain. Problem is I can't get in to see the neuro until Feb 23rd. I'm hoping this will resolve itself in a few days like it did the last time but it still scares me to death. Has anyone ever had this happen?

If you don't improve, you might try going to the ER --- in some instances they will call in a specialist to check you out. I hope you feel better quickly.

    Warm hugs,

A Hermiated disc. can cause the problems you are having. Maybe that problem has returned. If you like working on a computer it might be wise to look at any side effects each of your meds might have. Just by chance I found out on of my meds could cause muscle & joint pain. If this keeps up I would go with Donna's advice. You have a long wait until you are able to see the Neurologist. So sorry, keep us informed. Hugs, Ziggy
