    Well

I'm seeing my pain management doc this afternoon. The last time I saw him it had only happened once and we were thinking it was a reaction to a med, so I dropped that med. I'll explain it to him again today and get his opinion. I absolutely HATE the idea of going to the ER. Now matter how bad something is I always say in my head "Its not THAT bad!!" But I have to admit that this is scary, so maybe it IS that bad? I just don't know. I think this whole line of thinking comes from my mom. She's kind of (no, she IS) a hypochondriac and was always going to the doctor and ER when I was a kid. I NEVER want to be that way.

My suggestion has to be to see someone ASAP --- if you can't get in to see your doctor, emergency room could be a good idea. At the hospital where I worked, a problem like yours would result in a neuro seeing you in the ER --- or possibly admitting you and doing a neuro referral.

    Sending healing thoughts,
    Donna

    Leg/arm problems

I am having another "episode" of leg and hand/arm problems. This is the third time since Christmas that I have developed weakness and stiffness in my legs and arms/hands. I just noticed it starting yesterday. Began having a difficult time walking. Not that I couldn't, it was just hard. By last night I was holding onto counters and furniture to get to the bathroom and this morning it's just getting worse. I know from the last two times it's happened that it could get bad enough that I will need to use the wheelchair (which I still have from breaking my leg, oops). But then by Monday it should be gone and I will be back to walking like normal again. There is some pain with it, but it's mostly just stiff, weak and hard to pick up my feet and move my legs. And my arms/hands just feel very weak but not unusable. I have an appt with a neuro but it's not until the end of Feb and right now everytime this happens I get really scared. I just don't know what's wrong. Has anyone else ever had this problem or anything similar.
