I've had that problem before but not isolated to a flare. When I was in the hospital a couple of years ago I kept telling them my tongue hurt. It ended up I had a vitamin deficiency. At the time I wasn't dx'd so I can't tell you how it would react to IC but I was told to take a B complex pill and after 1-2 days my tongue was better.
You should check with your doc to have your levels checked. That was very painful. Sorry you're going thru it.

Hi Donna,I've had this since my late teens.Doctors offer no advice. They call it geographical tongue and shrug it off as nothing.I realize it is not serious but it sure is bothersome.

It could be too much acid or too much salt. It could also be an allergic reaction. I've had a sore mouth many times, but not connected to IC flares.

    What does your doctor say?

sore tongue during an IC flare?

Does anyone else get a sore tongue(geographical tongue)during a flare?I wonder if it is a sign of too much acid?My tongue gets sore raised patches that move from one place to another.
