Ok, before I panic to much

I was googling tonight about how a D & C was done and ovarian cysts. No way will I do the D & C unless it is life saving. Did find that when you are over 40 (I'm 46) ovarian cysts mean different things and how many you have on each ovary. (It also said a laproscopy is the only way to test for endometeriosis. To see if cysts are on the outside of places). Anyway, it said you have a 50/50 chance of the cysts being cancer when you are over 40 years of age and they say to monitor them. If they don't go away then to have them out. Just how do I know what I read is right? Two doctors tell me they don't cause pain. this website said they do exspecially when you are older. 2 doctors say to do nothing about them. This last gyno said to. What to do??

I have 5 cysts on one ovary, 7 on the other and 1 in the uteruis. Had that many cysts on my ovaries when I had the ultrasound done 12 years ago and 10 years ago and the Catscan 7 years ago.

Has your DR done a CA-125 blood test (tests for ovca)? If not, you can certainly request that it be done.

If the growths have been diagnosed as cysts, you shouldn't have to worry. I have a cyst in one breast and two in a kidney --- they have been diagnosed as cysts by ultrasound (breast) and catscan (kidney). Unless they start growing (unlikely since they've been there for some time) I don't need to do anything.
