  • Thickened uterine wall

Hi! I know this really isn't related to IC but I figured since we are mostly females I would find someone on here that has experienced this. I'm a little freaked out. I have had heavy, clotty periods and bleeding in between periods for several months now and recently addressed it with and abnormal ultrasound that came back. They told me today that my uterine wall is thickened and as soon as I was being asked about cancer history in my family things became kind of hazy. I've already known that the thick wall is a red flag. My grandmother also had uterine cancer so it is in my genes. Has anyone else experienced this? ANy advice? I have to wait to see dr now for next step. I'm a bit nervous about them poking and prodding at me because I have such severe pelvic pain related to IC, Vulvodynia as well.

It's good that whatever is going on it's being caught early. Before I had my hysterectomy I was passing huge clots, but no bleeding between periods. That was back in the 70's so it's been a long, long time.

    Stay safe

I am a very heavy clotter as well but no bleeding in between. Could it maybe be endrometriosis? Have you been checked for that before? I hope whatever it is resolved soon. Good luck

Annie: I believe they are talking about a thickened uterine lining. There are several conditions that can cause thickening, not just cancer. I am post menopausal & have had this before. I have had exams & a hysteroscopy for it & it did not cause a flare. Mine turned out to be a benign polyp in my uterine cavity & I had no IC problems from any of it.
