  • Advice please

    Hi,

I have had the urethral pain for nearly 2 years and have recently found that my symptoms are massivly helped by drinking marshmallow root tea, however there are still a few days every month when it flares up. Over the past year i have had an ultra sound and mri scan which have come back normal, my doctor now wants to do a telescopic examination under general anaesthetic. My dilema is: do i go ahead with the examination which might show a answer but then again might not and might make the symptoms(which arent too bad atm) flare up badly due to the invasive nature of the procedure OR not do the procedure and hope that my symptoms stay the same/dont get too bad?

    What do you think?

    Thanks for any help

Usually the flare from a cystoscopy is very temporary. It's a decision you will have to make for yourself. It could help with making a diagnosis so it depends on how important that is to you. It can be a tough decision to make.

    Warm hugs,
    Donna
