I am in a moderate flare and with my flares I get terrible pelvic pain and horrible urethra burning. The burning isn't as bad as it was a week or so ago but I'm still having issues. I was wondering if anyone had any good prescription medicine that I could talk to my doctor about to deal with the burning/itching. I checked for a yeast/bacterial vaginoses/UTI and I don't have any of these it's just a "normal" flare for me. I use lidocaine but I can't use it very often so I'm hoping there might be something else I could discuss with my doctor that I could use more often. I also do all of the home remedy things like hot/cold, tums, and baking soda baths. The cold helps but the minute I take it away it's back full force. I also avoid wearing underwear when I can but the burning/itching is really starting to become a problem. Normally I can deal with it by using lidocaine and painkillers for a short period of time but this is lasting several weeks so I need some type of long term solution. Anything I can maybe bring up with my doctor or try at home would help so much. Thank you to all who have helped me in the past and I hope this burning ends soon!

Take: elmiron 2twice a day
Cymbalta once a day
Prosed ds as needed
Lydocaine gel for sex
Tramadol as needed
Oxycodone as needed
Orthro Evra Patch continuously
Diagnosed with severe IC April 2011
Suffered for 8 years without a diagnoses
I'm 23 and have always had issues but when I was 16 things got much worse. I saw urologists, pediatricians, and gynecologists and nobody had any answers it was either in my head or an infection. Finally found a wonderful doctor who diagnosed me with IC
