The burning has usually been less since I've been drinking evian of course when I don't drink it like i should it burns more, but today i've seen blood again after voiding and the burning wasn't even bad. Usually i see it when it gets real bad, so I don't know what this was about. Does anyone else usually see blood? Going to the doctor they only give me meds for a UTI so i don't know whether to bother again or not, cuz i would have to visit the hospital cuz of the no insurance thing.

I'd definitely go to to see the doctor and mention that you've had blood but no burning. He/she may refer you for further tests just to rule other things out. If they don't, suggest it, say that you want it investigated (unless the doc does a test in the surgery that confirms a UTI of course).
If they're not willing to do further tests, then there's no harm in seeing another doctor for a second opinion.
If I was a doctor I'd want to eliminate the UTI first and then if there wasn't one, I'd be going to the next stage i.e. further tests or a referral to a urologist/specialist.

As for the burning, have yo tried Desert Harvest Aloe Vera? I've just been on this for a week now and its got my constant burning and urethral irritation down to virtually zero. That's taking 4 capsules per day.

Just a couple of times during my first year or so of IC symptoms, I had blood in my urine and the in office test showed white blood cells, but no infection showed even when it was sent out to be cultured at a lab.

It seems that this is fairly common with IC based on what I've seen posted here over the years, tho not usually typical, so you should probably get it checked out.

Do you have a Planned Parenthood nearby? Before I had insurance, that is where I went for all my femalse stuff. They are very affordable based on your income and can do screening for UTI, as well as gyn exams and such. You could also try calling a walkin in health clinic and ask what it would cost for a one time visit to submit a urine sample for a test. It might not be as much as you think, since you would be paying cash they probably wouldn't charge you near as much as they bill insurance companies! The most affordable option would be to purchase UTI test strips at your local drugstore. A lot of people here keep those on hand.

If you test negative then you may just be one of us who experience blood in urine with your IC, then antibiotics wouldn't be necessary. But it would be best to have this checked out, especially if you have a history of actual UTIs.

      Keep us posted

I do have burning, just the evian water helps since I don't have insurance, and the nearest planned parenthood is too far for me. I did apply for assistance at a local clinic but I will probably have to wait a couple weeks to hear back from them. When they test me for a UTI they find a slight infection but the meds never help it. My doctors back home told me that it was prob IC, but I moved to Texas before i could finish all the tests they wanted me to do. Now once i get any kind of assistance I'm going to have to start all over again with the tests. I could go to the hospital since I'm seeing a tiny bit of blood after voiding, but like i said they just treat me for a UTI and the medicine never works.

I have pain after urinating too & now experiencing burning.. i've had IC for 13 yrs. Had real mild symptoms for quite a few yrs. then since Sept. things have been pretty bad. My Uro put me on Elmiron.. after just 1 dose my symptoms got worse! I have been going almost a month now since stopping the Elmiron & it still hurts after i pee. Was also just diagnosed with a Inguinal Hernia. Not sure if this is contributing to the pain after urinating or if it's the IC??
