  • How many people go into remission?

    Hi everyone!

I have been signing onto the the forum a lot lately. I'm currently suffering from IC, vulvodynia, and PGAD. My symptoms evolve every day. I have not seen a lot of activity on the Vulvodynia forum lately. I am hoping this means that everyone who was struggling in the past has experienced relief and are out and about living their lives. I guess my question is, how many of you had vulvodynia and are currently in a remission? How long did it take to get into a remission? Is remission common for vulvodynia? I am feeling discouraged and could use some comfort.

so sorry to hear you are struggling. i don't have Vulvodynia but thought i'd pitch in that I've seen really good success on the Trying Low Oxalate Group re low ox diet (though they have a lot of info on how to lower levels safely) - and it also helps a lot of bladders. and interestingly some people are finding things like Curable - which is basically about retraining the brain re how it deals with pain - are transformational re Vulvodynia. so both might be worth looking into...

Just a suggestion, but have you tried keeping a detailed diary, listing foods and drinks, plus everything that comes in contact with your body to see if there might be something you can identify as a VV irritant.
