Thanks, I'll try blueberry yogurt to start with, altho I'd heard that it wasn't necessarily the acid in yogurt (and sour cream) that are the problem but some other chemical. Anyway, I'm going to try a little because it's still such an easy snack to carry around. I'm having trouble finding things to snack on since bananas and preservatives and food dyes got on the diet list. The bittersweet thing is: (not to make a pun!) I can eat most sweet and fattening stuff like cake and cookies and ice cream! So that's what I snack on these days, unfortunately.

    Kat,
Yogurt doesn't seem to bother my bladder. But I am not ultra food sensitive. I avoid spicy and acidic things. If I do eat something that I think might bother me, I drink lots of water to dilute the effect. I'd suggest trying a small amount of yogurt that doesn't include an acidic fruit like strawberries. Hope that helps.
    take care,
    Melanie

Melanie, you can eat yogurt with IC and it doesn't hurt you? I thought it was a no-no and I've been afraid to try it. Before I found out I had IC, I LIVED on yogurt. Since I was diagnosed, I've been afraid to try it.

Rene: Acidophilous capsules do work for
me very well, and I am very medication
sensitive. I take two every morning with
by breakfast, as I am prone to yeast
infections. I have also greatly reduced
the amount of sugar in my diet though not
    diabetic. Oddly enough the antibiotic
"Cipro" does not cause me a yeast infection.
It is usually prescribed for antibiotic
    resistant infections.

    Hi Rene,
acidophilus pills didn't bother my bladder, but I got hives. I get hives with alot of meds.
I eat Yoplait yogurt alot. I buy the Yoplait light because it is lower in sugar. It has the active cultures and seems to help the yeast issue a little bit.
    take care,
    Mel

    Acidophilous?

    Hi,
I've had three yeast infections since my Oct hyst and was curious if taking acidophilous is hard on the bladder? I know everyone is different but wondered if anyone had luck with this. I've always been chronic with yeast infections. I've been tested for sugar and a few other things all were negative. I don't stay on a yeast free diet and I know that would help. I feel like the 7 different antibiotic's they had me on for my UTI are the reson I'm back to dealing with yeast. Thanks.....Rene
