  • I showed no symptoms

Just to let some of you who have posted during this bacterial infection, I had no visable symptoms, no discharge, no odor and no irratation that the dr could see. But, I was and still am having horrific vaginal and urethal pain and itching. So, if you go to your gyno and he/she says there is 'no sign of infection' (like mine tried to do) demand that he/she does a culture. My first culture came back as a yeast infection and then when he did the next one a month later (which I also had to demand) it came back as bacterial and it's been hell teri

Good advice, Teri...thanks a bunch. Sorry you had to learn the hard way! My last vag infection was a "no visible symptoms" infection. Took 2 doses of Diflucan to finally get it to go away. Ack! Now I have a lots of visible symptoms from the penicillin I took for my dentist visit. <sigh....> Gotta love being a woman some days, huh?

Hang in there. Hope this clears up for you soon!

    Hugs,

One time I had a red, sore, itchy rash between my legs. I was told it was all kinds of things from fungus to yeast to infection. I almost scratched myself crazy. Finally, I went to see my dermatologist, and she said it was just my good old "eczema" that I've had all my life showing up in a new place. A few days of cortizone cream and it was all cleared up. But, I suffered for weeks before seeing her with other doctors guesses as to what was going on. I think just because it was in the crotch area, they looked at it differently than had it been on a leg or arm or whatever.
