  • Anxiety is getting the best of me....

Agh...this flare is taking so much out of me.

My ic came back after I was in a full-fledge remission and all of the old anxiety and fear came crashing back with it! I'm exhausted, I'm angry, I'm feeling nausea from the elmiron, and I'm trying really hard not to isolate myself from the world (which is really what I feel like doing!).

    I miss my remission!

    Thanks for letting me vent.

HI Mom in Ma.........SO sorry to hear you are back in the IC game. How dreadful!! I hope you can get a handle on it again. I can imagine you are totally depressed and just plain mad! I would be too. I'm sure remission was great.....while it lasted. I guess this just shows the rest of those who are in remission that they need to stay on the diet.......stay on Elmiron.......just in case!
I vent often......so don't feel bad about it. It's better to get it off your chest than bottle it up...cause that just makes flares worse! I wish you luck with all this......I know it's rough! Take care....Roxie

I no longer have the awful urethral pain! I've been using MSM gel now for 4 mo. and haven't had a flare up or the urethra pain.....it's amazing stuff!!:woohoo:

Just remember that you have had a remission before --- and you will again. Hang tough!

        Hi Robin,

It's a terribly helpless feeling isn't it? This disease requires so much maintenance, and if you don't have great reserves to begin with, it can be devastating.

Hang in there, I know that isn't much, but for me it helps to know how many thousands of others are on the same road I am on, just at different places.

        Take care,
        Moonheart

          Thanks....http://www.icnshop.com/

Thanks. My fear and anxiety are coming are happening because my 'typical meds' that worked before aren't working. I'm having to more forward in the med process and that scares me!

I'd gone off my Detro and Ditropan when I had my gastric bypass surgery......then tried to get back on them afterwards.......I had a terrible time and never could get back on the Detrol. It gave me terrible frequency and pain. Now I use the Ditropan patch called Oxytrol. It was the only way I could use Ditropan now.....crazy how the body changes over time and won't react the same to certain meds!

Hi MOM IN MA. I am also a mom in ma and also totally anxious at the moment. I had almost 12 years of remission and then the bladder bomb dropped in Feb. I have been having some okay days but whenever I feel a new twinge, a change in symptoms or any frequency I get very anixious. I try to talk myself through it and say this will pass. It is so hard to do. Where in MA are you? Send me a private message if you like. Hang in there!
