I am NOT giving up my hormone patch. I have a complete hysterectomy over decade ago and have never taken pogesterone. My vagina would be non existant without my estrogen and testosterone.
To each his own. Dr Rosenthal said in every medicine--their is a little poison, even asprin.

Jo,
An allergist doctor in Austin, Texas says most of his IC patients test positive for progesterone antibodies, meaning they are allergic to it. I'm assuming that can be all forms of progesterone including natural and synthetic. I hadn't heard of hormone allegies before, but since everyone has them including men and children and many of us are exposed to them in foods & the environment, it makes since that people may be allergic to many different kinds of hormones.

This is interesting. It makes me wonder about us men. I think we may hold the key to this, because if they could just isolate something that we have in common (hormonally) that is completely out of line with other men, they may be able to isolate the problem more easily than looking at just women. This is, of course, assuming that the cause is the same. For instance, many women may have high progesterone, but if all of us men with IC were found to have high progesterone as well, that would tell a whole lot!

Shane! That sounds wonderful
I am a die-hard and I truly believe that until this disease affects as many men as it does women, us women don't have a chance. Sorry, but the medical field has been this was all of my life and I can't see it changing in my life time.
I am NOT praying for more men to get IC....I am praying for us women to get as much attention as a man with ED teri

Tammy, Thank you for your answer. This is really interesting to me because I also feel it has something to do with our immune systems which are kicked into overdrive when we are exposed to something we are allergic to. Ergo, could IC be a symptom caused by whatever we are allergic to? I'm certainly not a expert, but aren't our elimination systems set up to eliminate released toxins along with other waste matter making our bladders come in contact with our allergans? It is about a 3 hour drive for me to Austin, TX but it sounds like it might be worth a try. Thanks again for all the great info. Best of health to everyone. Jo Ellen

Hi
I took a look at this site last nite and found it very interesting. I wrote to Dr Robby lets see if I get a response. I was also thinkning about calling his office and ask them if it would be possible to have one of his IC patients call me to see how the treatment is helping them. This way I could see if anyone out there is seeing improvement with this. And to see if they are legit. Its funny cuz I alot of times I get my hives when I am premenses and right now as I am typing and I am going into ovulation right now. I was thinking about the men thing to. But dont all humans have progesterone. This is something that I think should be considered to be investigated.-JOJO

The progesterone theory is very interesting cause although I still have IC it was at its severe stages when I had periods and I got them twice a month with the endometriosis, so I had PMS double. After the hysterectomy at age 34 I stil have it but not as constantly and intense. I am on Estrace 1mg, no progesterone. Can anyone tell me if I need the testosterone? It is wierd cause when I had endo and they put me on testosterone I beleive it was Danazol to stop my periods and put me in a pregnancy state I was much better bladder wise until I bleed through that. When I went on regular birth control pills I would get cramping almost contraction like?~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Carol~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
