I'm not quite yet in menopause, still having periods although they're getting somewhat irregular. However, I'm like most IC patients and flare HORRIBLY during periods and would like to stop them. I might not stop my periods for another 2-3 years, who knows, and now that I know about these BC pills that can stop or reduce periods, I would like to try Seasonale. Question - anyone here who is in their late 40's or older taking BC? Or are gyns gonna refuse to give it that close to menopause? I have no history of stroke or breast cancer in my family. I'm sick of the monthly flares and would love to have at least a year without this problem.
Also, what dose of Seasonale or Seasonique (the continuous BC without the sugar pills) do you all take? I'd like to know so I can be armed with some info when I see the doc (most of whom are clueless about any of this). I will definitely stay away from Yaz due to the diuretic in it. Any info or help would be appreciated. Thanks!
