That's a tough one --- there are some who take medications to help deal with hormonal variations --- you might want to consider that as an option during your transition to menopause.

hi
you mean pain medication?. it does not work for more than half an hour or so. I even tried tramadol without great results.
my urologist, though he ruled out IC, put me on amytriptillin low dosage (20mg) . I don't know why. maybe he thinks I am crazy, sobbing while talking to him, since he recommanded me to see a psychiater. He seems to have heard of IC, but I don't think that any doctor in Algeria can be considered specialed in this condition.
I am on this medication for 4 days now, and do not notice improvement. I have a bottle cystoprotek that i ordered. Should i begin or better not to better evaluate the results of amytriptillin? the pain is so depressing though
thank you for your kind response

My husband took 10 mg at bedtime for years for arthritis pain before he passed away. Our doctor explained that it helps with pain by interfering with the pain receptors in the nerve system. It could be worth a try for you --- and it could take a few days to know if it's going to help --- it does for some ICers. You might want to wait a few more days before adding the cystoprotek to your routine.
