Jen, please, please stick to your resolve and stop smoking!!! My husband has had emphysema for over ten years and is now in end stage. His lung capacity is 18% and he's on oxygen 24/7. He's been tube fed for the past 8 months because his oxygen starved muscles are so weak he has trouble swallowing. He is in and out of the hospital with pnuemomia and bladder cancer which the specialists said was also caused by the smoking.
He was a muscular active man who has been reduced to an emaciated weak man. My daughter was married in April, a year earlier than planned because we didn't think he would survive another year and even if he did he would be too weak to stand and have pictures taken. We begged him for years to stop smoking but he always said it wouldn't happen to him. Instead of doing all the things he loves, bowling, fishing, hiking, he sits in a wheel chair all day.
So please, do it for yourself and do it for everyone who loves you!!

Hello Jen:
I am rooting for you!
It will be 3 months on July 5th for me for not smoking. I really feel no different but my apartment smells clean and my cats are not getting sick from my smoke. blah My cat Muggy, was showing early signs of asthma and now the symptoms are gone.
I used the patch for one day and went cold turkey. It was hard but I was determined to quit this time.God bless, Yvonne

Hi Jen, I will be praying for you to stop smoking, take it one day at a time. My aunt may died a year ago from empshya and she was only 66 years old.She said she would never quit smoking, but she did when she got sick and had the oxgen on for 24/7. My dad quit many years ago. I know that you can do it. take it one day at a time. I had a friend Louanne who I used to work, she quit cold turkey cause her mom died of empshya. she would suck on lollips. Hang in there. There's hope and we are rooting for you.Hang in there , There is hope.
There is hope. Prayer works.
Love, Debbie
