Cindy, Quitting smoking is one of the most difficult things I have ever done. Not to mention the additional stress that having Ic and other conditins places on us. But rest assured it CAN be done. For me, the major issue was WANTING to quit badly enough. I, like you, had tried a hundred times to stop, using every method possible to no avail. But the bottom line is, you have to be ready to quit. As far as suggestions, the key for me was to slowly decrease the # I smoked daily, then set a date to quit. I had my best friend come over to support me as for me the first 24 hours cold turkey were extremely hard. I mean, I was physically shaking, nauseaus, etc. My being the stubborn , determined person I am, decided that if I cheated just once, I would have to go through that first 24 hours again and I was not interested in doing so. Also, after you get past that, you have to break the mental habit, I had to find something to do after I finished my meals b/c I wanted one so badly. And driving was the same, I did gain some weight, but I would rather have a few extra pounds than blacken my childrens lungs. So, good luck dear, I am here if you need support! Hugs, ICNNINA
