    Dear Christine,
I was VERY VERY HOOKED, HOOKED, HOOKED on two packs a day for ten years. I tried many times to quit and was unsuccessful until one day I made up my mind that I was not going to let cigarettes control me anymore. I was about to get married and I wanted to be healthy for myself, my husband and my family. I never thought I could go cold turkey, but that is what I did. I BELIEVED I could do it and that is what (and all) it takes . . . believing. My kids once had a swim coach who used to say, "If you think you can't, then you are right, you can't. But if you think you can, then you are right, you can." (Like the little engine who could.) However you decide to do this, it will work if you are determined. Honestly, you will be so surprised at yourself and you will wonder why you didn't do it sooner. Good luck to you. Remember, You CAN do this! You can!
    Love, Mary Ann

I am still hanging in there and not smoking this is hard. I am doing the zyban again and this time learning from mistakes and hopefully will succeed. One mistake I made was being around people who smoked. So when I bailed ship the cigs were there. Not any more I am not around cigs and after a few days when I smelled one it smelled gross so hopefully a step in the right direction. Zyban has worked for me it does not bother my IC and really helps with the nicotine cravings. I am just would love to ba a non smoker in six months but today I am. Keep trying never give up we have IC what could be worse <grin> God Bless

I quit years ago and used Nicorette gum as a crutch. I couldn't do it cold turkey. I was too hooked.

    Warm hugs,
    Donna
