  • He left....final time....

    Hey all,

Some of you may know my relationship has been very, very tumultous to say the least. Greg has not been happy since being back and having to pay all the bills (about 4 months) and support sick me. He consistently threatened that he would leave, and he has (at my insistence.....the threats and constant verbal abuse were too much to bear).

I'm not sure where life is gonna lead me, I'm sick as H***, have no income, no savings left, no health insurance and tons of bills that I can no longer pay. I'm gonna rely on my faith in God to help me through this, as well as all my friends.....both have already helped tremendously.

I know what I have to do, and am gonna start making calls tomorrow (Monday) to try to locate some housing, food, etc.

On the upside..... (yup, there actually IS one!), I have had a very calm weekend without him here!!!

Thanx my friends for listening!! I hope y'all are having a low pain weekend!!
Thank You all so much to everyone here for all your sharing, caring and support!

I am amazed that you can see the bright side. Of course, your name, Chrissy Sunshine says a lot about your outlook. I wish you strength in the coming days. I imagine you will be happier without the abuse - what a terrible cross to have to bear. I pray that you find relief for your debt and some sort of compensation for food and housing not to mention insurance. Blessings

I urge you to apply tomorrow for public assistance. You should qualify with your health problems. And don't let anyone there discourage you from filling in the application.

                You're a strong person --- you'll be okay.

Honey, I have been through something very similar. Please have faith that your life will get better. i too, heard, "i'm leaving" long before it actually happened. i was scared and so worried about everything... after rasing 5 kids! I have had so many of the members here, take care of me online with their hearts and words of encouragement.
I hate IC, and I think we are coming close to a good treatment for all of us. My Doc really feels hopeful and that makes me hopeful.

Never worry about writing to this wonderful group ogf IC friens. I have needed them and they have helped me. Keep in touch and there is an answer to almost everything here!

HI, I've been in your shoes with my first husband. He said he was leaving...then didn't.......then did......but he came back for a cpl months when I had to have back surgery. Then he finally moved out. It was awful......but looking back it was the best thing that happened to me. He wasn't a great father or husband. I had IC back then but didn't have a diagnosis, just pain on and off thru the years. I was married for 17 years to him and made my life miserable......Probably part of the IC pain was from having a stressful marriage!
Life isn't easy after a split, esp. if there's kids involved, but life does go on and things WILL get better. Use your support system and if you need counseling find a good counselor. Many are sliding scale if you don't have money. Good luck to you! Roxie

I'm sorry to hear this but if you are happier or calmer without him there then maybe you are better off. Donna is right about the public assaitance. Not sure where you live but you could also get Medicaid and they will pay for all your medical needs. Lots of paper work but well worth it. Medicaid is how I get all my medical needs and meds paid for. Good luck with everything. You might try for Section 8 too. (they pay the rent) They have a list wait but you would be a special case since you need a home soon.

                            medicaid

dont be so quick to tell everyone they can get medicaid, apply for low housing, etc. I live in the dc suburbs where the cost of living is astronomical. you are considered poor if you dont make over $60,000 as a single person. when i got ic i spent almost a year finding a doctor to diagnose me and when i got disability it was only part of my salary. i eventually applied for social security and got it 2 years later. when i got medicare i found out it did not cover prescriptions and elmiron was very expensive. anyway i was not making enough money to live around here but because i had worked all my life they said "I made too much to qualify for medicaid." so i was between a rock and a hard place. they also said i made "too much to qualify for housing but, in reality, did not make enough to survive without roommates, etc." you have to look at each individual situation. I got a real rude awakening as to what happens to people who get chronically sick.

She has no money of any kind or a place to live. She could go into one of those housing places for battered women and from there they would get the housing support going. I do know not everyone can get medicaid if you are working but if you have no money at all you can get it. I get SSI and still have the medicaid. Just depends on how much the person makes but worth a try. I know people who have Section 8 and they drive brand new licolns and those suburban things. They make a good living with the jobs they have.
