Hey friends,
I've been doing pretty well with managing my IC on-and-off for more than a year now,and I've got a really lovely understanding partner whom I've been with for about a year and a half (woah!). I am having a really, really hard time getting my libido back up, though; it's never recovered from before I had IC. I used to enjoy sex and, while I didn't have a tonne of it, I liked it and sought it out from partners happily.
Now it feels like a tonne of work to even work up the idea of wanting it, even with a partner that I love and trust and am attracted to. I think it's because I'm always afraid it will hurt (and it often does a little bit) and that totally turns me off.
So I'm thinking of trying to get a book to help me out with this; something to do with IC and dealing with painful sex. What books do y'all recommend? I am thinking of "When Sex Hurts" by Dr. Goldstein, or "Silent Suffering", but I'm open to suggestions! What has worked for you guys?
