  • Relationship is moving along...

Guess I'm falling in love with him, too. For Valentine's Day he sang me a song (made up words to some of the verses) accompanied by strawberries & blackberry juice (okay, had to use Prelief on that, he doesn't know that much about dietary restrictions yet). Also received a couple of cards, chocolates, and a nice, fuzzy, robe. Yesterday we were wandering around a shopping center & stopped in a jewelry store & I tried on a couple of engagement rings. We're both thinking that our relationship feels so right, even if we logically know we're moving pretty fast.

He's been amazing during my Interstim trial. After my revision last Wed., on Thurs. he drove 30 miles to my house to drive me to a quilt guild meeting that I really wanted to go to. I wasn't supposed to drive yet because of the anesthesia, etc. While I was at the meeting, he baked me cookies (heart-shaped) & decorated them. What a sweetheart!

On the 19th he proposed, and I accepted. We bought a ring yesterday & will be able to pick it up tomorrow when it's been resized. I feel like I'm a bit nuts for going so fast with him, but it feels so right! Think we'll be getting married rather soon, perhaps in May.

Interstim implant will probably be the 25th. I find out tomorrow.

This morning he greeted me at church with a love poem he wrote. My heart just melts.

While the Interstim trial hasn't been the improvement that I hoped for, my fiance has agreed to learn how to do the pelvic adjustments that give me IC relief for 1 - 3 days & are too expensive to have done professionally on an ongoing basis. Thanks to garyg for this idea!

The date is final now, May 22. We have my rings, my dress, the church, the minister, a reception hall, honeymoon flight, hotel & car, so that's not bad for less than two weeks of engagement. Have to go visit family next to introduce him & be introduced. It's going to be busy! Interstim implant recovery is going smoothly, so I'm thankful for that. Too bad it's not helping much.

                              I wholeheartedly second everyone's congratulations.

Fast isn't always bad. My husband and I were long-distance friends for almost a year before we met. And although it is a little different, we knew we would wed before we even met in person. He visited me for 10 days and decided to move to NY from CA. He visited another 10 days one month later and we decided to move in together. One month later he moved in and 6 months later we got married. We were already married in our hearts and calling each other husband and wife, etc. We only had a courthouse wedding so there wasn't any planning or rush.

We've been together 4 years now and never have had a fight of any substance. My bladder problems began while we were together and although it was tough at the beginning of them, he's been so wonderful and supportive I am always greatful.

If you know it's right, then I'm sure it is. And you're already dealing with the IC so it won't be a jolt like it was with us.

I wish you all the best and keep us updated. (Perhaps a link to some online wedding pics?)
