  • Ugh MIL!

This has nothing to do with IC, I just need to vent about my MIL. Background, I'm orginally from Baltimore MD, moved to Lancaster PA to be with my hubby. My parents still live in Baltimore and my MIL lives with us. My parents came to visit today to see Griffin (they're only grandchild) due to my IC and schedules they haven't seen him since Xmas. I think my dad could go a whole year w/o seeing us, he's not the loving father/grandfather type. My mother on the other hand has been going out of her minding missing Griffin, couldn't wait to see him. So while we are sitting in the living room my MIL comes in and starts talking to us. Well Griffin loves my MIL so he goes and starts playing with her and completely ignorning my mom. If this was only a minute or two I wouldn't care but she stayed with us for almost half an hour and Griffin was playing with her the whole time! She gets to see Griffin everyday! She lives with us. My mom hasn't seen him in 3 months and she comes and hogs his attention! Hubby won't let me b**ch about it, apparently it annoys him when I complain about his mom, but this was wrong in my opinion! Why can't she just let him have time w/ his other grandparents without her butting in! It's just another example where everything is all about her and nobody else. I really can't wait until Griffin is old enough to start school so Shane can go back to work and we can get her out of our house! Okay I feel a little bit better but not much, lol

I have been diagnoised for 6 1/2 years now. I have taken a long break from the ICN but really miss helping out my fellow IC patients and want to get back into posting.
1st hydro 4/07 showed no visible signs of IC but tons of mast cells in all my biopsy samples which did prove IC.
2nd hydro 4/13/09 showed dark purple glomerulations and I had a capacity of 450 cc's. This hydro proved that my IC had progressed.
I have tried every oral medication as well as rescue instills and DMSO.

I have been lucky enough to see Dr Hanno, the top IC specialist in PA who has told me due to the fact that I have not responded to any "standard" treatments that I have a severe, end stage case of IC with a horrible quality of life (didn't have to tell me that last part!)

Proud wifey of Shane, mommy to Griffin, and step-mom to Logan and Gage

    who's Shane?
I don't blame you. However, for the next visit I would ask her politely as you can, if it would be asking to much of her to go and visit another relative while you visit with your parents.. or better yet just make plans and go to the park for a picinic weather providing..

Oh sorry Cindy Shane=hubby, I was just mad last night that I should have just called him hubby. Yea, I may have to say something the next time they come, I just don't know why she doesn't realize what she's doing. I asked my mom if she wants to come and watch Griffin when I have my hydro so that way my MIL doesn't have to take off work to do it and my mom can spend some extra time with Griffin. I don't need her to do it just thought it would be some nice extra time for them. Plus who doesn't want their mommy around when they're having surgery even if they are a grown up, lol
