  • My husband understands

My husband tries to be understanding but he's not a compassionate person. When I say "I'm really hurting" he says "what's for dinner". I had a hysterectomy/2 hernias repaired 2 weeks ago and he has been wonderful. He has been having left flank pain and lower the last couple of days--then last night the pain just about killed him. Today he was diagnosed with diverticulitis. (inflamation/infection of the colon membrane--with little pouches off the colon) He told me today that he finally understands how much pain I'm in and what I go thru. He also gave me a great big hug. Not that I'm glad he got this but it's nice to know he understands. Now if I can get everyone else around me to understand too.

I'm with you, it's an awful way to get his understanding, huh? But if it's a "lesson" for him, I think he got it loud and clear! Hope you both are feeling better soon!!!

Sometimes it takes coming down with something painful for people to understand what we face every day.
