  • Has anyone Been to Aruba?

I am planning on going to Aruba with my Dad and hisgirlfriend and my brother and his wife and the 2 girls, Shannon,6, Caelin who will be 4 in August with Cathies Mom and Dad. WE are going in October. Do you know what there is to eat? I have never been. I found out Dad and Odette were going and I felt left out when I found this all out and called my brother, he said I could come as long as I pay my airfare and get a room. I would love a room by myself. Dad is going to help me. Does anyone know where I can get low airfares too? Thankyou. Hang in there. There is hope.
Hang in there , There is hope.

    Diagnosed August 2001

Current IC meds: Elmiron (since 2001), Levaquin (one pill after intercourse to prevent UTIs), Effexor (for depression & anxiety)

Past IC meds: Amitriptyline (Elavil), Hydroxyzine (Vistaril), Detrol LA, Lexapro (for depression & anxiety, but also helped my IC) (They all helped, but I was able to discontinue them.)

I've been virtually symptom free and able to eat & drink whatever I'd like for about 8 years now.

They may have been few in number, but they offer sufficient proof that everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms -- to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way.” ~ Viktor Frankl

One of my favorite places! There's always a breeze & has never had a hurricane. The people speak English, French & papasomething, their own language. I felt very safe on the island & one of the best meals we ever had was there. We still talk about it. A small restruant in town where you cook your own food on a lava rock! Ask around, I'm sure it's unique & people will know where it is & the name. Have a ball! Kathi

Things have changed, I am not going. Dad doesn't want me to fly alone or have a room by myself and there is no room. I am disappointed but I am trying to say it wasn't meant to be.God must have other plans for me. Thanks for all your support.

I am so sorry you are not going Deb. It is a wonderful island. It is very safe there.
I would say Kathi that yes they do have hurricanes. I was there when they got a tail end of one. It flooded out the mall down by the cruise ships. It flooded the hotel rooms on the main floor by our resort. They had to shovel the sand out of the rooms.
