24 hours and I will be headed south to Babsrn, and then on to cruise the eastern carribean for 7 days. I am so psyched up about this. We have never had a real vacation alone without the kids other then a weekend here and there. Never anything alone and away from the phone the kids, the dogs. We have had alot of ups and downs with IC and I really think this will be what we need to just regroup as a couple. I will check emails daily and may even sneak a peek in on my buddies on the ICN if I have time.

I hope you guys have a great time on your cruise. I am so jealous!! I didnt realize it was just gonna be the two of you. I think that is wonderful! I think every couple should take out time just to be a couple sometimes. My husband and I havent had a vacation with just the two of us yet, but hope to someday soon too.
I hope you guys have a wonderful time! Tell Barb we love her and hope she is okay! I think of her often and hope the new job is going great!
Dont forget, we are all gonna want details when you return, so be sure and live it up, since we will all be living vicariously this week!
Hugs,
Amy

Leslie...I hope you have a wonderful trip. :woohoo: I am looking forward to hearing about it. But, unlike Amy, I really don't want to hear all the details.
Give Barb a huge (((((hug))))) from all of us. Take lots of pictures of the two of you so you can share them with us.Sharon
Shopping??? Did someone mention shopping? I'll get my hat... ;-)

*Diagnosed with severe IC in 2004
*Also diagnosed with PFD, fibromyalgia, chronic myofascial pain, IBS, migraines, allergies/asthma, dermatographism
*Kept trying a million different treatments for all these things until I found what works, and I am doing okay these days with the help of a cocktail of medications and the InterStim, which was first placed in 2007. [I have had 2 revisions - one in 2010 when my battery died and had to be replaced, and one complete replacement (lead and generator) in 2012 after a fall on my stairs caused my lead to move.]
*Current meds include Atarax (50mg at night), Lyrica (150mg twice a day), Xanax (0.5mg at night and as needed), Zanaflex (4mg at night), hydrocodone (10/325, every 6 hours as needed), Advair, Nasonex, Singulair (10mg at night), oral contraceptives, home instills containing Elmiron and Marcaine (as often as I need to do them).

Have a great time Leslie!Christine
I have been diagnoised for 6 1/2 years now. I have taken a long break from the ICN but really miss helping out my fellow IC patients and want to get back into posting.
1st hydro 4/07 showed no visible signs of IC but tons of mast cells in all my biopsy samples which did prove IC.
2nd hydro 4/13/09 showed dark purple glomerulations and I had a capacity of 450 cc's. This hydro proved that my IC had progressed.
I have tried every oral medication as well as rescue instills and DMSO.
I have been lucky enough to see Dr Hanno, the top IC specialist in PA who has told me due to the fact that I have not responded to any "standard" treatments that I have a severe, end stage case of IC with a horrible quality of life (didn't have to tell me that last part!)
Proud wifey of Shane, mommy to Griffin, and step-mom to Logan and Gage
Also proud mom to the best Bullmastiff on earth, Claus

RE: Bon Vayage
I am so excited to see on of us break loose and have some fun. Those times are too few and far between for couples these days especially with ic. Will be praying for you. no flares, no pain and and blessed and peacefull trip for both of you. I do so hope this will be a new beginning for you and your hubby.
Good luck and God bless
I got excited when I saw that Sandy had a nice time out with her children at the ostritch farm. I feel like sticking my head in the ground right now, so I won't see the things going on around me. Anyhow. Have a great time.
