    First Vacation with IC tomorrow

    I'm off to Seattle to visit my sister and my husband's aunt, uncle, and cousin. I'm so excited! A little nervous about taking a plane by myself though. i hope it all goes smoothly. I'm not planning on doing anything too strenuous, so I hope it's a fun trip without too much pain interferring. My husband has been up there 3 days already and I miss him.
    I will miss all of you and the daily support you offer! Hope that you all have an enjoyable end to the spring! Summer will be here soooooooon!

    You'll be fine. My first plane trip I took alone, I had two changes, then had to get to a hotel at the end of the journey. I have to admit I was a little nervous, but I flat our refused to tell anyone I was.....

      For IC I use Elmiron, Elavil and Freeze dried Aloe Vera (it works likes Elmiron, but naturally)and Azo as needed. I also take Zegerid, Randitine for Barrett's Esophagus. (which causes me to have constant yeast infections!)I take Cymbalta for Neuopathy/Myopathy pain. I use the Climara patch for menopause symptoms. I'm on a very strict diet because of the IC, IBS and Gastric Bypass. I take Primal Defense Probiotics and whole food Iron.
      I no longer have the awful urethral pain! I've been using MSM gel now for 4 mo. and haven't had a flare up or the urethra pain.....it's amazing stuff!!:woohoo:

        It was a good trip. My sister's boyfriend wanted to play handball, which I didn't think I could handle. The courts were full anyway though! I had 2 bad, crippling, waves of pain during the time I was there, but all in all it worked out. I went houseboating over the weekend too! That was so nice!
        Why is there so much pressure from other people to get you to drink? My God! My husband's cousin and his girlfriend didn't seem satisfied with me one night until I agreed to have some wine. And houseboating - it was like - do you want some tea?, coffee? I'm fine with water I'd say and then it was like - well we have some juice? etc?????

          HI! Sounds like all in all your trip went really well!
          We drove to Nebraska last Sunday and stayed till Wed. We had a great trip also but like you said.....everyone wants to serve you ANYTHING other than water! I kept saying......sorry I can't drink that.....and the response would be OH but I also have .......finally they gave up on me! LOL It was great seeing everyone though. It really helps the spirit to just get away for a while! Roxie

            You drove to Nebraska. Where are you from? My husband and I drove 16 hrs back from Seattle to Santa Cruz CA. We stopping like every 1 1/2. Luckily my husband had to stop a lot too because he was drinking caffeine non-stop.
            His cousin in Santa Cruz is such aproper hostess. I went to her house once and of course she wanted to offer me some great drink. She kept saying are you sure you don't want SPARKELING water? Then went my water came there was ice and lemon in it. I just drank it. Geez, it's nice others can relate.

              Geez! I have the same problem. People aren't content to just let you drink water. There are alot of times I don't care to go into detail as to why I just want water. I get tired of explaining my medical problems. I just want to let it be. Then there are those that know of my problems but still insist I drink something or try something. I have the worst time understanding that!

              My 20 year old daughter is the sweetest about my IC. She is always looking out for me and protecting what I do and don't do. She helps me stay on course and not give in to the temptation of cheating.

                HI ABliske! I'm from Lincoln, Nebraska......but have lived in Houston, TX for 14 yrs now. It's a long drive and the older I get the longer it seems! LOL We stop ever othre hr or so for a potty break and to just walk a little. The weather was So nice the whole time we were gone and it felt SO great just to get away! Roxie

                  My grandma is from Nebraska, but I've never been to the south or the eastern states. I would love to someday.
                  Is the MSM working still? I got some while I was up in WA. It has another supplement in it too.

                  That's great you have your daughter to help you. My little nieces are the sweetest kids ever and I can see them taking care of my sister in that way if she ever needed it.

                    Where in Nebraska is your Grandma from? I'm from the Lincoln area. It's beautiful weather up there right now. It was hard leaving everyone to come back to Houston.
                    My MSM gel is made by the original people who made it and DMSO www.jacoblab.com I only have to use it once every other day or so now. At first I was using it 3 times a day. It's great stuff! Roxie

                        HI AB........I had to giggle......Wichita is in Kansas......but only about 2 hrs or so from the Kansas/Nebraska boarder......so you were close! lol
                        I just put a little of the gel inside......and because it's gel it melts all over inside.....and works where it needs to work. Roxie

                          Whoops! I know that we do have family in Nebraska though. Some relatives I only see at the rare family reunions.
                          I might order some of that MSM. I have ben using lidocide for a while and it helps some, but not enought.
                          I really wish there was something i could install into my bladder that would do the trick.

                            HI! I hope the MSM gel works for you. It was a life saver for me. I'd been in terrible urethra pain before we found the MSM gel.
                            Maybe some day they'll find a cure for us.......we can hope anyway! Roxie
