Kadi, that is wonderful. Those kind of things seems to put blessing in our life, and then we realize there are truly people who cares and are thoughtful. I am glad to hear you had a great day. They are like angels.

    Hi Kadi!

Sorry to hear you were sick. It's nice to know you are feeling better!:woohoo: It is such a great feeling to know that the people you thought might not be understanding ended up being very understanding. You are such a nice person and you deserve all the support you can get when you are not feeling well. I am sure you are one of those teachers that a kid will never forget. One that inspires young people to be passionate about their education and future. Hugs, Rach

    Thankful for coworkers & students

    Hi all,
As some of you know already, I teach in a pretty tough high school. So, I was pretty upset this week when I got a really bad menstrual headache/nausea, missed work Monday, went in Tuesday but the nausea & headache came back from driving & the noise & light made it worse. I had to ask coworkers to cover for me, no sub teachers were available & I went home at 8:30am. I missed Wednesday too. And it probably didn't help me recover to be upset & worried about being labeled negatively over it.

I was so touched when I got back to find that my classes had been really good with the substitutes. I found a positive note about them & most importantly, I came back to work completed & did not come back to grafitti or damage to the room. Usually, I have to battle behavior for several days to get the kids back on track, but this time, they all said they missed me & not even one kid gave me a hard time at all.

And a few of my coworkers came by to see if I was ok or needed anything, even my assistant principal who could've been a real jerk about my leaving on Tuesday just said he was glad I was back & said to let him know if I needed anything. What a difference from my old principal (he resigned last summer) who screamed at me & threatened to write me up over my IC absences.

And today was an especially nice day. I'm advisor for the Spanish club & the members had a potluck lunch. The club officers brought me a chocolate rose (I won't eat it, but the thought counts!) & a Valentine's card. My students who were nationally honored for their foreign language achievement got their award letters today & they came by surprised & happy today too.

I'm going to get 3 little plants & thank you cards this weekend for the teachers that covered for me, giving up their own prep periods. And one class got ice cream today, left over from the Spanish Club party we had today. I'll come up with some sort of Valentine's treat for the 2 other classes next Wednesday.

What a relief! And I feel pretty okay today, so whatever it was (probably my period) has passed. Thank God for continuous use bc pills, so I don't have to do that every month....
