After 3 long years of fertility and more recently IVF treatments, my sister gave birth to a beautiful baby boy last night!!...Malochy (Irsh family name from the dad's side). There were some worries, my sister is 42 and her blood pressure has been high for the last month and her placenta was attached in the wrong place for most of the pregnancy until recently, so the drs were worried and she was worried that she wouldn't be able to deliver vaginally and would have to do emergency C section if her blood pressure got too high. They tried to induce labor last weekend, but it didn't work, and tried again this weekend, still didn't work, apparently because of scar tissue from a cryosurgery she had long ago on her cervix. The babies blood pressure and hers were getting too high last night, so they had to do a C section, but everyone is doing fine! She was 38 weeks, and mom and baby are doing fine
6.something lbs and a cute mop of dark hair like his daddy.
I am sooo grateful that everything turned out good. We've all been on pins and needles for the past month because of the blood pressure and placenta issue, especially because she lives halfway across the country from the rest of the family. I will be going to visit her for the month of June, when school is out. And just can't wait to see my first nephew!!!!!!!!
