HI! That's SO cool that you have great parent!! I had great parents too (my mom passed away 5 yrs ago but my dad is still living).
It's always nice to get gifts from them esp. gifts you really want or need! You are very blessed indeed! Roxie

I do have great parents and am very thankful for the gift. They've always been compassionate about my bladder issues. Even when I was a child and having to go to the bathroom a lot, they never complained.

I called them after I got home to tell them they're the best parents ever. My mom laughed and asked if I'd call and remind my older brother of that! He agrees, of course. Then later they called back to make sure they were getting my favorite ice-cream for my birthday. I mean, goodness. You can't beat that. I'm very blessed to have such a wonderful family (including the extended ones, in-laws and hubby). Sometimes when I get bummed about not feeling well, I try to focus on the many other blessings I have. Loved ones top the list!

Woohoo Stacey, it's so nice when you get something that you really need like that. Parents still come in handy for those short of things no matter how old you are I think. When my gyn first wanted to put me on Elmiron my dad paid for my first 3 month supply because it cost $120 and that was way more than I could afford at the time. I hope you enjoy it!

started a topic New massage cushion

    New massage cushion

Just a bit of background for this post. About a year and a half ago, I was diagnosed with mild degenerative disc disorder in my back. It's like IC in that it flares and subsides, but never completely disappears.

I have a new family doctor and went to see her last week because it was flaring again. My former doctor was incompetent and I've been seeing a chiropractor who has helped, but I wanted to get her opinion. Basically she just reiterated that it is an ongoing issue I'll always deal with, but I can help it with some stretches, exercise (like walking), going to the chiropractor, muscle relaxers, etc. I was still bummed about the whole thing.

OK, so in the meantime all this has been going on, I keep looking at this massage pad for a chair at a local store. It's $100. Every time I go into that store, I sit in the chair for the demo. It's a Shiatsu massager and feels wonderful. My plan was to buy it sometime when I could. Earlier this year we had to replace a furnace and then my hubby had a long bout with a kidney stone, so we've certainly had extra expenses. I tried not to think about how nice a massager would be.

So, the point is that tonight my parents called me. They were at the store and trying to figure out what I wanted so they could get it for me. They were wanting to surprise me for my birthday (I turn 28 on Friday), but they also wanted to make sure they bought the right thing. I met them down there and they bought it for me. I got all teary eyed in the car on the way there. It's just such a blessing.

I've already hooked it up and used it! you can only use it for 15 minutes at a time and that's all I did. I don't want to overdo it and make myself sore, but it was so nice and relieved some of my pain. I'm just grateful for such wonderful parents and for the massage pad!
