Hi Everyone. I have not been on this site for a very long time and I'm not sure if I am using it right i.e. am posting correctly? Last month I moved from Canton, Georgia to Loveland, Colorado. When I did that I created the worse flare I have everr been in. I have never had pain 24/7 for over 2 weeks. I am seeing a new pain specialist in Boulder and she seens wonderful. She put me back on Fentanyl Transdernal 50mcg/h patch and percocet 10mg for break thru pain,( Ihave been on percocetfor 4 years) and ambien for sleep. I'm still on Lexapro and Xanax. Today I had my first acupuncture and a massage down my neck and left arm. I was very relaxed when I leet there, that is till on turned on my husband's navitgator, pressed destination home and wound up going back toward Canton, Georgia, not north to Loveland, Colorado. Now this was in the start of rush hour and I was panicing. Tonight the patch quit working and the pain was as strong as ever. I changed the patch early, 12 hours, and then freaked out thinking I'm over medicating myself. What is really worring me is that something else is going on because of the never ending pain (except when the patch goes on). Does anyone know why oxycotin is more $$ than the patch? Not having any of my friends out here is hard, and that probably adds stress. And not selling our house in Georgia, now that is a real pain in the pocket and creating all types of physical and mental anguish. We bought the house last year and put over $30,000 into it and it is on the market at a give-away price. I hope this letter is not too boring, but it has helped me to get my mind off this sinister pain! Is there anyone out there in the Loveland, Colorado area? Would love to talk. Thanks for listening.

I'm so sorry that moving has put you into such a horrible flare. I know that stress is one of my biggest flare triggers so that woujld make sense that you're feeling so horrible. I don't know anything about the pain meds you're on as I have never taken them but I just wanted to say I hope you feel better soon.

I have been diagnoised for 6 1/2 years now. I have taken a long break from the ICN but really miss helping out my fellow IC patients and want to get back into posting.
1st hydro 4/07 showed no visible signs of IC but tons of mast cells in all my biopsy samples which did prove IC.
2nd hydro 4/13/09 showed dark purple glomerulations and I had a capacity of 450 cc's. This hydro proved that my IC had progressed.
I have tried every oral medication as well as rescue instills and DMSO.
I have been lucky enough to see Dr Hanno, the top IC specialist in PA who has told me due to the fact that I have not responded to any "standard" treatments that I have a severe, end stage case of IC with a horrible quality of life (didn't have to tell me that last part!)

Im new here too! So I thought I would reply to you! Im sorry the move caused so much pain. I agree with pp, its most likely the stress. Whenever I stress, Im in so much pain its ridiculous. I try and relax more and then its so much better. I dont know anything about oxycontin and my doc never gives percocet so Im not much help on those subjects.Comment

fentanyl
The pain is worse today and that is with changing the Fentanyl patch last night. My doctor has a family emergency and is leaving town. My husand, I can tell, is sick of my complaining about pain and I'm at my wits end. The patch usually does the trick but no luck today. You all know what "the pressure" down there feels like, and I have it very bad today, How do I know it is not something other than IC? Ohhow great to have the relief I was having yesterday. Not only me, but I wish you all a pain-free day.

Marcy, I used to live in Berthoud, Co. and go to school in Loveland. My dad was a pastor in Berthoud and I lived at the boarding academy in Loveland. It was really neat there. Horses everywhere!
Hope you feel better!
