  • Little sister is coming to visit!

I am so happy! My little sister is coming from Houston to stay with us. She's coming May 17th. She is one of my favorite people in the whole world. We can talk for hours on end on the phone, and we do (we have the same warped sense of humor, similar views on the world, and we are both college professors). But her coming out is something else again. Every time we visit each other, we end up staying up until all hours, laughing, singing -- we taught ourselves to sing in harmony when we were six and twelve years old, and we've never stopped -- and laughing some more. She also gets along beautifully with her brother in law, and her niece adores her. I know that I can count on her to take my physical problems into account, and never complain. Tonight on the phone she helped me pick out a cane from a website; we each got onto this web site and we looked at all the carved wood canes together and made a selection. That's Julie, whatever the topic or activity is, she jumps right in and makes it fun.

Oh, I am so happy! Joyeuse, heureuse, contente, et vachement plu!

Je vous souhaite de la joie, de la bonne santée, et tout ce qu'il y a de bon dans la vie.
Wishing you happiness and good health, and all the best out of life.

    Peace, Carolyn

That's so great Carolyn! It sounds like you are very close. I'm guessing with her living in Houston you don't see her as much as you would like. I'm sure you'll have a great time.

I have been diagnoised for 6 1/2 years now. I have taken a long break from the ICN but really miss helping out my fellow IC patients and want to get back into posting.
1st hydro 4/07 showed no visible signs of IC but tons of mast cells in all my biopsy samples which did prove IC.
2nd hydro 4/13/09 showed dark purple glomerulations and I had a capacity of 450 cc's. This hydro proved that my IC had progressed.
I have tried every oral medication as well as rescue instills and DMSO.

I have been lucky enough to see Dr Hanno, the top IC specialist in PA who has told me due to the fact that I have not responded to any "standard" treatments that I have a severe, end stage case of IC with a horrible quality of life (didn't have to tell me that last part!)

      Carolyn,

That is great news. I know you have been hoping she would visit soon. I am so happy that she is able to. I believe the visit will do you a lot of good.

Carolyn, that is so great. I hope you have many great days and nights talking and just goofing around. That is great she understands about your health condition, that itself takes a lot of stress off.

          So happy for you,
          Sending hugs, Trishann

Thanks everyone, I'm doing the happy dance too! I do have another sister who lives much closer to me, but we don't get along as well. Julie is the sister that I begged for for six years, and although I suspect she was an "accident," I've always felt that she was a gift to me.

That's great! I have a sister named Julie too. And she's visiting me in CA from Idaho. My little sis Janice is here too from Seattle. They are coming to take me to lunch and I can't wait!!!!!
i couldn't ask for time off work because I'm going on vacation in 2 weeks. But, I'll be up north visiting them so it's okay. We hardly ever get to visit and now we will twice this month.
Have a good time with your sis.

Hey, you too! Is May suddenly sisterhood month? That's really nice that you'll all be together.
