  • They grow so fast!

I just went to my daughter's middle school graduation ceremony. Of course I couldn't get the video camera to work, took camera shots of the wall and other people's kids, and was miserably uncomfortable in the bleechers....but, it was yet another time to reflect on my children and how blessed I've been.

Many of you will remember all that my daughter went through this school year, the seizure, hitting her head, missing a lot of school, etc, but she managed to pull herself up by the bootstraps and graduate with a 3.7 GPA! I am just so proud of her. The principal made me cry because he said the next time we gather like this will be in 2011 for high school graduation. I just can't believe I'm going to have another one in high school.

My youngest sat next to me, and my ex husband on the other side of me (Tom had to work and couldn't escape) and I just sat there and reflected on my life and what great children we've created. Even though we don't live together anymore, we sure did a good thing, 3 times. We're raising well mannered, smart, driven children who want to succeed and enjoy life.

I won't go on any more, I just needed to write down how happy I am that things are turning out so well....for all of my children!

Sandy...(((hugs))) I would be proud of her also if she were mine. She faced a lot of trials and came through like a champion. Much like her mother.

      Sandy,
That's great that your daughter graduated with such a high GPA! Espically after what she went through this year! My oldest step son is graduating from high school next year and hubby just can't believe it. It sounds like you have three really great kids and you should be really proud of all of them.

I have been diagnoised for 6 1/2 years now. I have taken a long break from the ICN but really miss helping out my fellow IC patients and want to get back into posting.
1st hydro 4/07 showed no visible signs of IC but tons of mast cells in all my biopsy samples which did prove IC.
2nd hydro 4/13/09 showed dark purple glomerulations and I had a capacity of 450 cc's. This hydro proved that my IC had progressed.
I have tried every oral medication as well as rescue instills and DMSO.

I have been lucky enough to see Dr Hanno, the top IC specialist in PA who has told me due to the fact that I have not responded to any "standard" treatments that I have a severe, end stage case of IC with a horrible quality of life (didn't have to tell me that last part!)

                    Congrats

I am so proud of her :woohoo: and happy for you. Poor thing, I forgot what a rough year this has been for her.
And, yes I do understand a little how you felt today.
Last year was Brianna's Kindergarten graduation and it was so special. Plus it hit my husband and I that she will be graduating from highschool before we knew it! (I know , it's a long way off, but Kindergarten seemed along way off not too long ago!)
Thanks for sharing your happy day and congrats to her again!

Oh, and you deserve to be proud of the great kids you have raised Sandy! You are such a great Mom! You have taught me alot about being a good Mom even though I am sick and I appreciate that!

I worked at a junior high this year, and it was amazing to see how the kids have grown in so many ways from the beginning of the year.

                            July,

It's amazing how much she's matured in the 3 years of middle school! Emotionally, physically, intellectually....she's not just a little girl anymore, she's a young woman.....My youngest just finished 6th grade, so I'm going to go through the middle school years with him now. It's so much fun, and hard work, to watch them grow!

Thanks for the replies everyone. I'm so proud of my kids!
