  • Lindsey is Back

I piggybacked this on the end of another thread, but just wanted to let you know Lindsey is home(on the couch watching PBS by choice) and doing ok. We are having readjustment issues(as I expected to after all the stuff the poor little kumquat has been through)but every butterfly kiss and hug she asks for reminds me how blessed I am to be a Mommy, especially hers. Here are some other things that remind me how grateful I am that God has blessed me to raise another life:

    1. Kissing boo-boos and just that making things better
    2. Cuddling together and having her look at me in the eyes(huge with autism)and say "I love you Mama, you are the best"
    3. The 9 millionth time she asks me for a hug.
    4. When she asked me, "Am I living in Florida with you forever?"

Just a few thoughts, may sound chessy, but the cheesy things become so important when they are taken away and you realize you may not bet get them back.

Thanks again to all of your support prayers and love.

    Love,
    Barb

I am so glad she is home. I am glad you had it in you to keep fighting after he kept knocking you back. Congrats to you and Lindsey.

You know how happy I am for you both!! She's lucky to have you as her mommy!

04/17/09 Crohn's disease almost killed me with a combo of extreme constipation from pain medications. My bowel ruptured, I almost died from peritonitis and spent several days in the ICU then more in a private room on the floor. If you have any questions about severe constipation from pain meds please don't hesitate to send me a message.

Welcome home little Kumquat! It's the cheesy things that you and your mommy will remember most... be cheesy every chance you get!!!

Congrats Barb, having had "the fight" with my own ex and not seeing my babies for over 2 years, I know the pain and frustration you've had to deal with. It's over now, and the minor (or major) re-adjustment issues are just that... they too will pass.

Good luck to both of you, and with the new job also! (Ok, so I'm a bit behind...)

I'm so happy for you and Lindsey. I can't even imagine how hard it was for you to be without her.
All of us mommies love those cheesy little moments, that's what we live for! Enjoy every minute of it!
              Christine

I have been diagnoised for 6 1/2 years now. I have taken a long break from the ICN but really miss helping out my fellow IC patients and want to get back into posting.
1st hydro 4/07 showed no visible signs of IC but tons of mast cells in all my biopsy samples which did prove IC.
2nd hydro 4/13/09 showed dark purple glomerulations and I had a capacity of 450 cc's. This hydro proved that my IC had progressed.
I have tried every oral medication as well as rescue instills and DMSO.

I have been lucky enough to see Dr Hanno, the top IC specialist in PA who has told me due to the fact that I have not responded to any "standard" treatments that I have a severe, end stage case of IC with a horrible quality of life (didn't have to tell me that last part!)

Proud wifey of Shane, mommy to Griffin, and step-mom to Logan and Gage
Also proud mom to the best Bullmastiff on earth, Claus

That is so wonderful, Barb!!!! I wish you both a wonderful, happy, love-filled life...but I know you'll have this since you have each other.

And those thoughts--they aren't cheesey--they are what makes motherhood so amazing.

Hugs to you and your little angel!

(Added by ICNMgrJill on 5/19/08. I am sad to share that Verdicries (aka Tracy) lost her life in a tragic accident just a few days ago. We will miss her support, her encouragement, her sense of humor and, of course, the joy that she found as a mother and wife).

Tracy ~ 29 years old with Toxoplasmosis (from birth), Fibro/CFS (since age 13...ouch), severe IC, IBS-D, severe PFD (surgery made it even worse), vulvodynia, hiatal hernia, GERD, ulcers, severe gastritis, numbness/tingling in extremeties, pelvic nerve damage--mainly urethral, urinary retention, pelvic reconstruction 7.10.07 (fixed rectocele, rectal prolapse, lifted bladder, urethra, uterus, and repaired vaginal walls), Raynaud's, 2 severely herniated discs in neck and one in low back, anemia, PCOS, anxiety/depression/panic attacks (since forever). Still having major bowel problems (inability to empty rectum...any ideas?? ).

I'd like to be on House, MD as a medical mystery.

Married to Craig, a saint amongst men...who puts up with me and my eccentricities...

Connor & Mommy by the tree:

                  Connor with Santa...so happy!

I take: LIQUID Atarax, Flomax, Soma (yet again), acidophilus, Glucosamine/Chondroitin with MSM & collagen, d-mannose. MAJOR flare from Cystoprotek! Re-trying freeze dried aloe vera w/some decent results!

Tried and failed: Elavil, Ultram, Prosed DS, Benadryl, Bentyl, Valium, Ativan, Zanaflex, Librax, Sanctura (all caused retention among other things), bladder instills (owwwwww!), Elmiron (allergic-throat tightening). Failed Interstim-no feeling in sacral nerves...

I'm allergic to penicillan, sulfa, reglan, quinolones, clindamycin, and now LATEX!

I am so happy that you are finally together again. It warms my heart to know that there are two VERY Happy people in Florida right now. I'm sure you are both on your way to bed. I hope you both have sweet dreams and wake up to a bright sunshiny day tomorrow.
