Maggie,
I am so sorry about your sisters death. You have a lot going on in your life right now, so this kind woman who will be with your during surgery is a real blessing! It sounds like just what you need. How kind of her. I am happy someone will be there for you and hope the bladder surgery rids you of IC totally!

What a friend!
When I arrived at my new parish in NC, a woman approached me and asked my last name. It turns out that she was in my sister's nursing school class in MD! They were very good friends. She even spent some time at my house. I am 8 years younger than they are so I wasn't truly aware of all of her friends.
My sister died very suddenly in January. Ihaven't really gotten over it yet. When my younger sister called to tell me, I called the parishioner here in NC to tell her. She was devasted also. She called all the other woman in their class in Balto.
Recently, we had a dinner at church and I was asking her prayers for my upcoming bladder removal surgery. Right away she said, "Let me know when it is and I will come and take care of you for Marietta. She would have done that for you. I want to do it for her."
I was moved to tears. I told my brothers and sil and they too were moved. Since then I've seen her twice and she reminds me to let her know the dates and she'll be there. The hospital is 3 hours away from her home.
She really loved my sister. I am so grateful.
