  • Naps!

    I am grateful for naps!!

Ever since my cysto/hydro on Thursday I have just been totally wiped out. In addition to bladder pain, my muscles have been sore all over... the nurse who called me last night from the surgical service said it was probably from the anesthesia. Even the muscles in my chest & lungs hurt... I think that was from being on the ventilator during surgery. In addition I've had frequent headaches and I can't tell if THAT was the anesthesia too, or because I started my Elmiron yesterday. Today, finally, the headaches seem to have gone away.

I went out on a quick errand to Walgreens and the grocery store with my husband today because I was feeling a bit better... and got so exhausted that I flopped into the recliner when I got home and fell asleep within 3 minutes of doing so.

The nap did me a lot of good! 'Course, it helped that when I woke I discovered that my husband had covered me in my favorite blankie/pillow and that he already had dinner going

    I love naps...

*Also diagnosed with PFD, fibromyalgia, chronic myofascial pain, IBS, migraines, allergies/asthma, dermatographism
*Kept trying a million different treatments for all these things until I found what works, and I am doing okay these days with the help of a cocktail of medications and the InterStim, which was first placed in 2007. [I have had 2 revisions - one in 2010 when my battery died and had to be replaced, and one complete replacement (lead and generator) in 2012 after a fall on my stairs caused my lead to move.]
*Current meds include Atarax (50mg at night), Lyrica (150mg twice a day), Xanax (0.5mg at night and as needed), Zanaflex (4mg at night), hydrocodone (10/325, every 6 hours as needed), Advair, Nasonex, Singulair (10mg at night), oral contraceptives, home instills containing Elmiron and Marcaine (as often as I need to do them).

Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "I will try again tomorrow".
