Oh, I am so sorry to hear this... a cancer diagnosis is always scary and heartbreaking and you are both in my thoughts. There have been some good advances in cancer treatment in the last few years -- let's all hope and pray your friend is helped by one of them!!!!

*Also diagnosed with PFD, fibromyalgia, chronic myofascial pain, IBS, migraines, allergies/asthma, dermatographism
*Kept trying a million different treatments for all these things until I found what works, and I am doing okay these days with the help of a cocktail of medications and the InterStim, which was first placed in 2007. [I have had 2 revisions - one in 2010 when my battery died and had to be replaced, and one complete replacement (lead and generator) in 2012 after a fall on my stairs caused my lead to move.]
*Current meds include Atarax (50mg at night), Lyrica (150mg twice a day), Xanax (0.5mg at night and as needed), Zanaflex (4mg at night), hydrocodone (10/325, every 6 hours as needed), Advair, Nasonex, Singulair (10mg at night), oral contraceptives, home instills containing Elmiron and Marcaine (as often as I need to do them).

Post contains a Christian prayer, if anyone finds this offensive, please skip it.

Oh, I am so sorry to hear about your friend's diagnosis. I know it is scary and impossible not to worry. But, it is very true that there have been so many advances in cancer treatment recently. I hope and pray that one of them will be one that helps your friend.

I also want you to know that there is always hope. Even when we cant see it, God still does, and he is creating even more reasons for us to hope every day.

My cousin was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer a few years ago. She was 31. By the time she was d/xed, it had already spread everywhere: lungs, liver, pancreas, ovaries, uterus, lymph nodes, ....you name it, it was there! When she was diagnosed, they told her she had less than a month to live. But that was 3 years ago, and one year after she was d/xed, she was in total remission! She is healthier than I am right now! So, miracles DO happen, I have seen it for myself!

I have seen the power of prayer coupled with technological advances and it was miraculaous. I will pray for your friend too. I will go ahead and pray right now, in case anyone wants to pray with me.

                              Dear Holy Heavenly Father,

We come before you now to ask for you to watch over our friend, Cali's dear friend. She is very sick and needs you to intervene on her behalf. She is very needed and loved. Her friends and family are heartbroken because of her illness and very, very scared. Her friend, Cali, believes in the power of prayer, as we know since she asked us to pray for her friend. Cali knows, as we do, that you can do all things, and that what seems impossible to us, is not only possible for you, but easy for you.

Please help her friend to make a complete recovery. We ask you to lead her to the best Drs available and use their hands as your own. We ask that you only lead her to Drs. that believe that she can be cured by you thru their hands. Please give her courage to face the difficult days ahead. Give her the strength she needs to fight this and beat it. Please surround her with positive people and increase her faith, so that she will have the gift of hope that you give to all those who believe in you.

We also ask that you envelope her with your love and carry her on the days she is too tired to walk. Help her to feel your presence in her life and remind her to lean on you when she is tired and scared.

We also ask that you be with her family and friends. Please give them strength too so they can be strong for her. Please remind them also to lean on you when they are tired and scared.

Thank you for all you have done for each of us, and thank you for what you are about to do. Please forgive us all for all of our sins. We ask all these things in the name of your beloved son, Jesus Christ. Amen

Cali, I will continue to pray for you, your friend, and her family and friends. If you need a shoulder, please feel free to pm me anytime.

                              Many hugs,
                              Amy
