Thank you for the update. I have been worried about that little guy all day. I have been watching this thread every time I come online, waiting to hear about him. I am such a basket case when Collin gets sick with anything, (even a cold), so I can only imagine how torn up his mother must be! I have such a soft spot for children, it kills me to even hear about stranger's kids being sick. (I could NEVER work in Pediatrics! I wouldnt be able to be a calm presence, b/c I'd be such a mess, I'd sit down and cry with the parents and kids!)

I hope and pray that they figure this out and get him better soon. It truly tears me up.

Obviously, it goes without saying, but PLEASE post just as soon as you hear any more news! (EVen if it is the middle of the night), since I will be checking every time I wake up, (which will be alot, since I am still hurting too much from the fall to sleep.)

Big hugs for him, his Mommy, and all who love him,
    Amy

    Not much of an update

Well I saw my friend's van was outside when I got home so I called her and she had run home for a couple of minutes. She said they still have no idea why he has the fever. They can get it to go down with meds but when they wear off it's back up to at least 104. She said they are still waiting on a culture to come back. I'm guessing it might be the urine but she couldn't remember. It doesn't sound like he's getting worse though so that's good.

No Cindy, they didn't, she had just taken him to the hospital sometime yesterday so they were running lots of test. Throat culture, blood work, they even had to cath him to get a urine sample, poor little guy, now he's in pain when he pees. Hopefully I'll hear something from her when I get home from work.

I sure hope the baby starts feeling better soon. I remember how scary those high fevers are. My daughter (her name is Taylor to lol earlier post) any way she has problems with ear infections and when she would get one she would run a really high fever. I had her in the emerg. room one time for a 105 fever and they were not that concern. She would run them alot like that. They told me to undress her so that she would not be bundle up. When I was growing up I had the flu real bad once and I remember not being able to get it down so they dumped me in a bath tub with ice BURRR!!!! I dont think they do that anymore. I also had a seizure once with a high fever I cant spell the name..But I also remember when my dad was in the hospital this last time and he had a high fever and they packed ice around him to get it down.

I agree with you guys! I would be so scared, I'd camping out with Collin at the ER until it came down, LITERALLY! I cant imagine his Dr. not being as alarmed as we are! Prayers for him and his mother. I hope it passes soon and he is okay.

Thanks everybody. I still can't get over that dr, what an idiot, she said it wasn't her normal dr. I think with a fever that high I would have skipped the dr and gone right to the ER in the first place. I'm guessing she probably spent the night at the hospital so I have no idea when I'll get to hear what's going on. Hopefully tonight when I get home from work.

Children seem to be able to tolerate high fevers much easier than adults, but 106 is still too high to feel comfortable with it. I hope they're taking steps to reduce it.
