  • Chrissy Sunshine needs your prayers....

Please keep Chrissy Sunshine in your prayers. She has been thru such a unimaginably difficult time lately and desparately needs our prayers. She just got out of the hospital, (where she had to stay for 2 weeks), and found an eviction notice on her door. She had 8 days to get out and find a new place. She also recently broke up with her longtime boyfriend. They had lived together for quite a while. She had to leave her job because she was too sick to work any longer. She hasnt been approved for Disability yet, so things are very tight. She has been understandably, very distraught over everything. She just moved out of her home, and had to move in with her ex.

Please, please pray for her and send her words of support and encouragment. She desparately needs support, prayers and friendship right now. Also, if anyone lives in Florida and knows of any programs that she would qualify for to help her out, please post to let her know or pm her with the information.

Thank you all for taking the time to read this and thank you to everyone who responds.

    Hugs,
    Amy

She is in my thoughts. Is there anyway to help her financially? I don't have much, but would be willing to send something. Do we have an account set up some where as a nonprofit to help our members out when such happens, kind of like the redcross. If there is an address for her pm I would love to send a note of encouragement and a monetary gift to help.

I encourage her to apply for public assistance. When I worked with a social services agency many years ago, it was called "general assistance" and administered by the various states. It's a meager amount, but just might see her through this rough spot.

                      Donna

P.S. littlemyrn, we don't have such a fund. It would be impossibly difficult to administer with the large number of members we have, plus the fact that we have members from all over the world.

Thanks Donna for the info. regarding the fund. It is that when I hear stories like hers, I feel so fortunate to have a home and would like to help with what I can, which isn't much after I pay all my bills.

                            Thank you all so much..

for all your thoughts, prayers, suggestions and words of encouragement.

I'm maintaining (barely....but I AM). Greg has said his place can be a "safe haven" for me right now as I try to recuperate and deal with all these messes that my health problems have brought on.

As far as monetary help, I don't expect it, what I really need right now is your prayers and support....that is worth waaaay more than any financial help.....now that says ALOT about how the support you all have shown can/is helping me.

As far as public assistance programs, there is NOTHING here in Florida. There is no "welfare" or "general public assistance" here AT ALL! I've been told by many state workers that I should just go back home to the north (I'm from RI). At least they have better public programs there. I'm working on getting back there, but it's gonna be slow. The criteria to be met to even obtain Medicaid here is 3 things....you have to have kids under the age of 18 (nope, they're grown), be over the age of 65 (nope, not yet, tho I FEEL like I'm 90!), and/or already be deemed disabled by Social Security (nope, not yet tho working on it).

Again what really, really matters to me is your prayers and support, I Thank You all from the bottom of my heart & always keep you all in my prayers as well. This is a h****** disease to have to deal with it, and you guys are really the only people that truly understand. THANK YOU ALL OF YOU AGAIN, it means more to me than you can possibly know!

                            ~ Chris
Thank You all so much to everyone here for all your sharing, caring and support!
