  • My son

My older son that is away at college called me earlier this evening to tell me that he thought that he broke his right foot or ankle. He was playing basketball with some friends and rolled his ankle. He mained to get home, with driving with his hurt right foot. His fiance' met him at his apartment. She is about to graduate from nursing school. She really doesn't know much about ortho, but her mom gave her a pain pill (I know this wasn't right) but there really isn't an ER that is close and I want him to go to an ortho so I won't have to pay for the ER bill. He has insurance through State Farm, but it is $1000.00 deductible. He just feel off my husband's insurance due to his age, so thank God that I purchased a short term policy since he was about to start on his fiance's insurance when they got married in May. Anyway...please say a prayer that it's not broken and that he hasn't torn any ligaments. He is getting married, but more importantly, he has to finish his student teaching which is a 30 minute drive, in order to graduate. This is his right foot and there isn't anyone that he can get a ride with to school.

Thanks for your prayers! I am also stressing since I don't have a job right now and I am trying my best to watch our money so that we can follow through with our plans that we have already paid deposits on, etc. I am so anxious and worried, and I don't wan't my son to see my stress!

I also hope that it isnt serious. It must be a really stressful and busy time for him, and he sure doesnt need any additional complications in his life right now!
Prayers going up for your son (and you!)

Sending hugs to both of you,
            Amy

              Tracey,
I hope that your son's ankle will be okay. Did he find out anything today about how it is and if it's going to be okay?
              Christine

I have been diagnoised for 6 1/2 years now. I have taken a long break from the ICN but really miss helping out my fellow IC patients and want to get back into posting.
1st hydro 4/07 showed no visible signs of IC but tons of mast cells in all my biopsy samples which did prove IC.
2nd hydro 4/13/09 showed dark purple glomerulations and I had a capacity of 450 cc's. This hydro proved that my IC had progressed.
I have tried every oral medication as well as rescue instills and DMSO.

I have been lucky enough to see Dr Hanno, the top IC specialist in PA who has told me due to the fact that I have not responded to any "standard" treatments that I have a severe, end stage case of IC with a horrible quality of life (didn't have to tell me that last part!)

Proud wifey of Shane, mommy to Griffin, and step-mom to Logan and Gage
Also proud mom to the best Bullmastiff on earth, Claus

Just checking in and seeing if there is any word on your son. I hope to hear that things turned out better than they initially appeared. Please let us know how he is doing.
