  • Little Sister needs prayer

My little sister (she's 18) really needs as much prayer as she can get. She has been battling mental illness and a personality disorder for several years and it is getting very bad. She is such a beautiful and sweet girl and it is breaking my heart to see how bad she is getting. She self harms and is covered with scars and is now getting agressive towards others. She has spent the majority of the past year and a half in hopsitals and has been in a group home for over 4 months now. She has gone through the ringer when it comes to meds and treatments. What she has dealt with as far as side affects from medications and treatments makes any of my IC problems pale in comparison.
Last week was very bad for her she, was in and out of the hospital 4 times (which is why I haven't been around for a few days) Unfortunately they are now talking about transferring her to another home over three hours away from her family because she is not making alot of progress. While this may take months to happen we are all dreading it and very scared. Please pray for her and my family as well. My Mom is also mentally ill and this is rough on her, she feels so guilty. My Dad is raising my two youngest siblings on his own and is so tired and stressed out. I too am hurting and scared and feel so helpless. There are six of us children all together and we are all very worried about her. We just keep trying to talk to her and do little things as much as possible to let her know we care. In the mean time we are trying to get as many people as possible to keep praying for her. I myself work with mentally ill children and I know there is hope with therapy and medication, but I believe she really needs prayer too.
    Thank you all so much.
There just aren't words to express how much all the support and love I have found here means to me!

I will certainly be praying for your sister, you and your family too. I know it seems overwhelming now, but God is right there with you all and I pray He will comfort you and give you peace. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed too. I ask God to give me His peace and comfort and He does. Also, He can speak to you through the Bible. I know God will help you so keep taking your concerns to Him in prayer and may God bless and keep your sister in His care. Tam

Thanks everyone. I haven't talked to her in a few days, it's hard to get through to the group home sometimes! But I haven't gotten any frantic calls from my dad or older sister, so that means things are at leadt not getting any worse. I'll keep you updated! Please keep praying!

                          Update

I got back from our trip on the 16th to find we had no internet (didn't get fixed until yesterday) and that my sis had a rough time. She was violent and ended up getting arrested, but it was mainly to get her to the hospital. She did spend a night in jail and I think it was an experience that really got her thinking. She went to court and it looks like there will be no charges.
I haven't been able to get her on the phone (no internet meant no phone for us as well) but my older sister said she has had a quieter week. She is not going to be able to graduate with her class now and that has been a big blow for her. So I hope she will be able to deal with that without going back to the hospital.
My girls and I are putting a package together with pictures, letters, and photos to send to her on Tuesday, so that will probably cheer her up a little.
Please continue to keep her in you prayers.
                          Thanks!
