  • Please think of all suffering with depression

My beautiful son, who had convinced himself that he had conquered his depression is battling this horrid illness again. I had started to believe that he was right as, while he had dropped out of university, he had casual work and was making plans to go back to study next year.
Out of the blue, I see that dull aching sadness in his lovely brown eyes and I just want to bundle him up in my arms and take away the pain and desolation.
I comfort myself with the knowledge that at least this time, we know what it is and have a wonderful medical team to call on. However, unfortunately I know that there are so many sufferers out there with no support what-so-ever.
Depression is still misunderstood these days and the term is bandied about far too casually. Please keep those afflicted in your prayers.

I will pray for your son. I suffer from depression/anxiety/painc attacks. I know how hard it is on my family too. I will keep you in my thoughts as well. I hope this will pass quickly for him. Having a parent that cares so much is more help than you realize for your son. Please keep in mind it has nothing to do with you. He is depressed for his own reasons, and it has nothing to do with how you raised him or whatever else. You are a great mom and he is so lucky to have you. I will extend my prayers to everyone who suffers with this illness, and to the families and friends who suffer equally.

Oh you are so right Ro. Sending lots of prayers you and your son's way and to all those suffering in silence out there... I too have battled it, and the anxiety issues etc, so I know it can be a long hard road to get to feel better - but as you know, it can and does happen, eventually!!!

          Sending hugs as well,
