Thanks for your prayers. I will keep you all posted with what's going on. My hubby sent out a few resumes last week, but spent a good portion of the week just sort of resting and recuperating, so to speak. This week, he's up and at it early to go through yesterday's jobs in the paper, etc.

I also appreciate the prayers for my group. I often think I get more out of it than anyone! I started after finding It's a great resource for people dealing with chronic health issues who want some Biblical resources.

Just had to post some good news real quickly. I talked with our car, home, etc. insurance guy today. He can give us short-term health insurance for about $140 a month for both of us. The downside is that doesn't cover prescriptions or treatment for anything we've been treated for in the last five years, but it's much more affordable than the $900 a month for Cobra. It would at least cover accidents, etc. He also said that we don't have to worry about staying covered right now in order to be covered under a group health insurance plan with a new employer. Evidently with group plans, they can't deny anyone coverage. ANyway, we're thinking the $140 a month sounds much better. While it's still tricky to afford with our primary income missing, it's still MUCH better than $900 a month. :woohoo:

Stacey, I'm so happy that you found less expensive coverage that you can afford. I just wanted to let you know that even if the group plan can't deny you coverage that doesn't mean they have to cover pre exsisting conditions. I work for a TPA (third party administrator) they administor benefits for other companies. My employer is also my health insurance. When we got the insurance they made us all prove that we didn't have pre-exsisting conditions, for the kids we had to show that they had insurance the whole time and for me and hubby we had to have the dr's fill out the forms that we hadn't had treatment for the conditions in a certain amount of time. It sounds like you'll be fine though because you'll always have coverage.

I have been diagnoised for 6 1/2 years now. I have taken a long break from the ICN but really miss helping out my fellow IC patients and want to get back into posting.
1st hydro 4/07 showed no visible signs of IC but tons of mast cells in all my biopsy samples which did prove IC.
2nd hydro 4/13/09 showed dark purple glomerulations and I had a capacity of 450 cc's. This hydro proved that my IC had progressed.
I have tried every oral medication as well as rescue instills and DMSO.

I have been lucky enough to see Dr Hanno, the top IC specialist in PA who has told me due to the fact that I have not responded to any "standard" treatments that I have a severe, end stage case of IC with a horrible quality of life (didn't have to tell me that last part!)

Thanks, Christine. I thought I'd do some more research and stuff today just to make sure we're covering all our bases as much as we can. If the short-term insurance will be good enough, then that's the route we'll go for sure.

Thanks for updating us with the news about this other insurance. Though I don't know much about these types of things (I came to this county about three and half years ago, still A LOT to learn ) but it does seem much better.

            I'll keep praying for everything.

Also thanks a lot for the link, and thanks for giving us the chance to pray for you.
