  • Low acid instant coffee

It appears that Kava low acid instant coffee is no longer being produced. Any idea what other low acid instant coffees are available? I'm only finding ground, whole bean, or k-cup options.

    to the IC Network.

I didn't know about Kava not being available --- I used to drink it before I got a toddy maker. Now I buy a really dark roasted coffee (the one I get is French Roast) and make a cold brewed concentrate --- then I put a small amount in a cup and add hot water. I can tolerate one cup in the morning. The combination of grinding a low acid coffee and cold brewing helps make a low acid coffee. I store the concentrate in the refrigerator and it keeps for at least a week.

I had to buy a coffee grinder ($14). I grind the coffee very fine, then add cold water and let it set overnight. I have a thick filter, but it should work to strain it through several coffee filters.

    Good luck!

P.S. I just googled Kava and found it in several places --- you might want to try ordering it on line.

I also thought that Postum was a viable instant option. Of course, the herbal coffees like Kaffree Roma, Pero and Cafix are available as well for a quick instant beverage as well as hot white chocolate!

Thank you both for the suggestions. I just did a bit more Goggling and found some information that the manufacturer had discontinued Kava, but has decided to resume production. They intend to have it back on the market by the summer. So it appears there may only be a short timeframe where I'll need an alternative.
