  • Pears poached with vanilla ice cream ....nummy

    Hi gals/guys,

Here is a nice dessert that I made tonight:
    Poached pears a la cath
    2 cups water
    1/4 cupish honey
    1 teaspoonish vanilla

    Bring to boil

Put in 4 pear halfs, cored.

Gently simmer 15 minutes until soft. Serve with vanilla ice cream, and spoon some of the water/honey mixture over the top.

    Bladder safe and very yummy.

That sounds soooo good. I'm on a low carb diet and anything with fruit and honey would be delicious. But --- my doctor says "no cheating" so guess, like the commercial says, I'll go lick the butter off a piece of toast.......

    wink

You can also mix honey, vanilla & melted cream cheese to make a sauce for poached pears. (Peel & cut the pear in half, remove core & microwave in a half inch of water).
      Yum!!
