  • candy cane flare

Yesterday I ate a small candy cane left over from Xmas, and I swear about 3 hours later my bladder got very tweaked! Pain, etc. Is it possible that I reacted to the artificial color in the candy? Does this sort of thing happen to others, and that quickly? I have not been very in-tune with the subtleties of diet (besides the obvious big things like caffeine etc.) with things like artificial colors, BHT, etc.

    Any comments welcome!

I once ate some mint ice cream and was in pain for days afterward. I had never had that happen to me before! Now I can't eat mint much at all.

And cinnimon just about kills me!

Peppermint tea (even 1 dunk in not-boiling water) gives me sharp bladder pain... Haven't tried mints or candy canes because of that. Bummer!

          Sheri--

I'm with you on this one! I love everything mint!! Mint chocolate, mint ice cream, oreo mint blizzards, you name it, love it! The best is hot mint chocolate. MMMM...it never causes a flare. Strange how one person can tolerate it and the next can't.

          Hugs and love,
